Gerwick is a 2 bedroom cottage, with sea views from the living areas on the first floor, located just yards from the Harbour. This cottage is a lovely place for a holiday on the Isles of Scilly with family or friends. Gerwick accepts dogs. Gerwick and Gweal have an inter-connecting door on the first floor that can be opened up to create one larger cottage with 4 bedrooms, sleeping parties of up to 8 adults.
Gerwick has been designed as a “reverse living” cottage, with the bedrooms on the ground floor, and the living areas on the first floor, to give guests the maximum benefit from the sea views.
NEW LODGES – Recently we have begun building 4 new lodges, to be sited in the area in front of Gerwick and Gweal Cottages. These cottages, sited behind the new lodges, are reverse living, plus the site slopes down towards the sea quite steeply, so the views from the living areas of the 2 cottages will remain unchanged. The view from the seating area in front of Gerwick and Gweal will likely be partially obscured, although the ridge line of each lodge is in line with a point half way down each of the cottage ground floor windows. We expect all works to be completed by the end of April 2024, and if work does run over, by then it will be interior works.
Downstairs
Bedroom 1 – can be set up as twin or double bedded room, a large room with chest of drawers for storage. The window overlooks the front. En suite bathroom with toilet and shower.

The entrance and hallway has a shoe rack and plenty of coat hooks, with stairs to the first floor.
Upstairs
Upstairs is a large open plan living space.
The dual aspect lounge has a comfortable sofa and chairs, a wood burning stove and it is equipped with a flat screen TV, FreeSat box, Blu-ray / DVD player and Bluetooth HiFi. There is a small selection of DVD’s available at the hotel, plus books, local guides and maps in the cottage. Gerwick enjoys lovely sea views from the bay window in the lounge area.
The kitchen is well equipped with fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washer / dryer. There is a hob, oven and microwave for cooking, together with a full range of utensils, crockery and glassware. Anything else you may need then just ask the hotel team.
The dining area has table and chairs, with highchairs available on request.
